    In accordance with the provisions of Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Norfolk County Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that owing to an electrical fault the use by vehicles (of any class) of C478 Barsham Road from its junction with C478 Water Lane to its junction with U14135 Lower Farm Road (the “Road”) in the Parish of Great Snoring will be temporarily prohibited/restricted.

    Alternative route is via: Barsham Road, Walsingham Road, Snoring Road, Holt Road, Common Place, High Street, Friday Market Place, Station Road, Fakenham Road, Ford Road, Water Lane (Barsham, Walsingham, Great Snoring).

    The works promoter for this restriction/closure is: UK Power Distribution.

    The closure/restriction is necessary because of the likelihood of danger to the public or serious damage to the Road or both.

    The closure/restriction is anticipated to take place from 21st to 25th August 2026, but the Road may continue to be closed/restricted until the 10th September 2026 where the closure/restriction is still required beyond the anticipated dates.

    This Notice shall automatically revoke on the completion of the works / when the closure/restriction is no longer necessary or otherwise on the 10th September 2026 without further notice.

    If necessary, this Notice may be extended for an additional 21 days by further Notice and/or for a maximum of 18 months from the date this Notice is effective by further Order.

    Any existing restrictions or prohibitions within Orders made under the RTRA 1984 will become suspended where they conflict with the provisions of this Notice during the operation of this Notice.

    A person who contravenes, or who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the restriction/ closure imposed by the Order shall be guilty of an offence.

    Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.

  • Notice of Temporary Road Closure (Thursford Rd, Walsingham) cancelled

    Norfolk County Council proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (the “Order”) (NTRO10112) affecting the C318 Thursford Road from 693 metres southeast of its junction with C317 Walsingham Road for 661 metres south eastwards (the “Road”) in the  Parish of Walsingham to facilitate BT telegraph pole test works, the Road will be temporarily closed (except for pedestrian access) for the duration of the works/period the closure is necessary which is anticipated to be between 09:30 and 15:30 on the 29th October 2025, but may continue to be closed/restricted until the 10th December 2025 where the closure is still required beyond the anticipated dates.

    Alternative route is via: C318 The Street, C318 North Lane, C316 Hindringham Road, A148 Holt Road, C317 The Street, C317 Little Snoring Road, C317 Norwich Road, C317 The Street, C317 Walsingham Road (Walsingham, Thursford, Little Snoring, Great Snoring).

    If necessary, the restriction could run for a maximum period of 18 months from the date the Order is effective.
